Walters Duo Ready To Strike In 2013 Warwick Stakes

August 23rd, 2013

Trainer Guy Walters believes that Streama will have the edge over stable mate Toydini in tomorrow’s 2013 Warwick Stakes at Warwick Farm Racecourse.

With both horses fancied in the 2013 Warwick Stakes betting, Walters feels that his more experienced runner will have the advantage.

“Toydini is a young, up-and-coming horse who still has to prove himself at this level,” Walter said.

“We’ve done a lot of work with him, he goes well fresh, but I’m leaning towards the mare. She’s quite forward fitness wise, and she puts herself anywhere in a race.

“She can be first, she can be last, and while I have a big opinion of Toydini, I’m leaning towards Streama.

“She’s a class mare, she’s fit, and she’s got ‘G Boss’, which is a big bonus.”

The four-year-old Toydini has won three of his 13 race starts and has earned more than $283,000 in prize money.

The Bernardini gelding won the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes and Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes during the autumn carnival, before placing fourth behind Usainity in the Group 3 Frank Packer Plate last start.

Already nominated for the $3 million Cox Plate on October 26, 2013, Toydini is expected to play a big part in the spring racing carnival.

Streama, also will be having her first start of the spring in the 2013 Warwick Stakes after placing second in the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara in her final race start of the winter carnival in June.
