Winx is set to jump a $1.08 favourite in 2017 Warwick Stakes betting markets, however punters can take advantage of an inflated $2 quote for the six-year-old to win OR finish second in Saturday’s Randwick feature at Ladbrokes.com.au! Max bet $20.

Will Winx dominate the Warwick Stakes and post an eighteenth-consecutive win, or will one of her rivals pull off the upset of the year?

Winx ($2 at Ladbrokes)

Winx is the class horse of Australia, if not the world of racing and she will just win the Warwick Stakes on Saturday afternoon. Amidst an incredible run of form which has so-far delivered seventeen-consecutive races and spanning more than two years, Winx ended her 2016 campaign with a successful defence of the Ladbrokes Cox Plate crown and resumed this year for a typically dominant win in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Randwick. Comfortably winning each of the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m), Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) and Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m), the daughter of Street Cry has trialled exceedingly well and will be partnered by regular hoop Hugh Bowman, from the ideal barrier 2.

Foxplay ($17)

Foxplay is housed in the box next to Winx at Chris Waller’s Rosehill base and often works alongside the champion mare. A standout for Waller through the recent Autumn Carnival, the Foxwedge mare broke through for a maiden win at the highest level in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m), but was undoubtedly at her best when she overcome a horror run in transit to win the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) on March 11th. Foxplay has been kept quiet in her two trials leading into the Warwick Stakes, but could receive the run of the race from barrier 3 and will be partnered by Kerrin McEvoy.

Allergic ($126)

Allergic is undoubtedly at his best at staying trips, but he is capable of a sharp first-up run and is undoubtedly over the Warwick Stakes odds at his current $14.50 quote to finish in the first three. The Street Cry gelding produced a number of strong performances and results through his autumn campaign and was last seen comfortably taking out the Listed McKell Cup (2400m) on May 27th. This will be the gelding’s first start for James Cummings and he has trialled well in the lead-up to the race.
